What our participants say about the program
This trip was absolutely amazing! Although I’ve been in Europe for grad school this past year, getting the opportunity to truly travel, exploring new cities and countries the past three weeks was something else. Having a great travel buddy, and supportive team at OWHC made the trip something I won’t forget.

A heartfelt thank you to the OWHC (Organization of World Heritage Cities) for allowing me to continue sharing my journey here in Bordeaux. I’m grateful for the opportunity to explore, reflect, and contribute to this global conversation on heritage — and excited to bring you all along for this new chapter.

Martha Skyrianou
My last day in Europe. I’ve never had an experience like this before. I had the opportunity to explore so many wonderful and historically rich cities. I’ve learned so much about heritage conservation from these travels and gained an even deeper appreciation for heritage preservation.

FAQ
Yes, but the scholarship stays €1,500 per project — not per person. So, if you apply as a team of two, you’ll split the budget and output work.
All applications are sorted for their planned travel routes (we try to cover many different OWHC cities, even smaller and less-known places!), their originality, aspects of sustainability, and the planned creative output. A mixed jury of OWHC experts and representatives of the target age group select the winners for 2025.
At least 2 weeks between June and October 2025. You plan your own route and timeline.
Submit your full application by 23 June 2025 to owhc@regensburg.de. Selected participants will be notified by 26 June 2025.
The €1,500 is paid in reimbursements. You can receive part of it during your trip (with receipts), and the rest after completing your blog posts and submitting proof of expenses.
The number of scholarships can vary each year. For 2025, up to 5 participants will be selected.
You’ll share regular updates on social media, write short blog entries, and finish with a creative project — like a video, photo series, or sketchbook. The format is up to you.
The organizers will always try to support you and find a suitable solution.
